King of the Wind Farms
Built in 1990, King of the Wind Farms in Macomb Twp. is set on 300 beautifully wooded acres with trails, 2 rivers, several hay fields and large grassy paddocks.
The owner, Ron Michaels, named the barn after his favorite book as a child, "King of the Wind," written by Marguerite Henry. The story depicts the legendary history of thoroughbred heritage alongside a tale of remarkable friendship between a boy and his horse. The story won the Newbery Medal for excellence in American children's literature in 1949.
Ron's love of horses is reflected in the care and planning of the facility that he designed and built himself. The passion from which the facility was born is still very much alive. We invite you to stop by, any time.
There is no other place like it.
